PARKER, Arizona (February 24, 2009) Herman TJ Laffoon has reclaimed a seat on the CRIT Tribal Council by winning a special election held on February 13.

Laffoon will fill the seat of Daphne Hill-Poolaw, who was recalled in a December election. He defeated seven other candidates to regain the seat.

Laffoon unsuccessfully ran as an incumbent in the December Tribal Council Election after serving several terms on the Council.

Laffoon will join Tribal Chairman Eldred Enas, Vice Chairman Wayne Patch, Sr., Treasurer Dennis Welsh, Secretary Merving Scott, Jr., and councilmembers Valerie Welsh-Tahbo, Richard Armstrong, Amanda Leivas-Sharpe and Johnny Hill, Jr.

We welcome TJ back to the Tribal Council, Enas said. His experience and background will be valuable to all of us as we work to address the needs and challenges of the people of CRIT.
